To be honest the water here just doesn't look too inviting. Besides, there are some big ugly alligator gar in there. I don't think they'd hurt you but I'd freak out if I came face to face with one.Rat Trap Presshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14123315525301010775noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5635932258743482905.post-5201228185026660012011-05-07T13:20:24.466-05:002011-05-07T13:20:24.466-05:00Funny, just as I was reading your blog, you commen...Funny, just as I was reading your blog, you commented on mine. With hot weather fast approaching, it'll get used a lot.

The bug is actually a spotted cucumber beetle. In it's larval form, it's known as the southern corn rootworm. In it's adult stage - like the one you've captured in your photo, it's a pest to squash, watermelons, and cucumbers. It actually carries along with it bacteria that infect the plant when it feeds, causing a quick death to the plant (bacteria wilt). My wife and I used to raise and sell melons and cucumbers at the local farmer's markets, so we got to know those creatures quite well. They are attractive, though.Big Oakhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06713190395281794960noreply@blogger.com
