Sometimes I forget that other parts of the US/world close down for Easter. Portland is so secular, even the library is open on Easter Sunday. It was the polar opposite to Winnipeg when I visited years ago. The grocery stores were closed on Good Friday!
I guess I got a little jaded about malls. The Northeast Mall was on my v1 commute and there was rarely anyone about when I passed by on my way to work around 7AM. Occasionally, I'd see a street sweeper running about but that was about it. I must confess, however, that most times of year it was a bit darker than in your photos.
I started this blog a couple of years ago when I used to print and sell t shirts with bike related designs. The name of my blog was the name of my business, Rat Trap Press. Rat Trap, referred to the old style road pedals, and Press of course referred to my screen printing press. Due to some sudden unexpected expenses I had to sell my screen printing equipment. I decided to stick with the name, RTP, and continue writing about my relaxed paced adventures around Fort Worth, Texas. Please take some time to say hello.
I had the exact same experience today. Not the mall, but out riding without hardly anyone around. The lack of traffic was very nice.
ReplyDeleteBest time to visit the mall.
ReplyDeleteIs the new bike performing as expected?
Was the mall actually closed?

Still a pretty bike.
ReplyDeleteMark-I like that ghost town feel to holiday rides. Christmas morning and New Years day are the best.
ReplyDeletePondero-So far everything is working well.
Adventure-Yes sir, we still enjoy our religious holidays down here.
Gunnar-Thanks. It turned out much nicer than I thought it would.
Hmm looks like a good idea.
