It's Warm Again!

The cold front moved out last night leaving us with a beautiful day. I've been busy at work lately leaving me the weekends as my only opportunity to ride. My two youngest ones were suffering from cabin fever so I took them out for some excercise.

My 21 year old took this photo of the weird cloud formations that rolled in with the cold front.

Everything is green. Perfect weather.

My 9 year old daughter constantly rides her bike on the eroding pump track in our backyard.

I've been neglecting my wife's mixte frame. I had intended to have it powdercoated but I decided to put some extra effort into cleaning the frame to use it as is and save some money. The paint was yellowed around the bottom bracket and the front and rear dropouts. Probably from WD-40 or some lubricant. I attacked the paint with Magic Eraser sponges and was pleasantly surprised with the results.

The finish on the frame is far from perfect but it looks much better than it did.

I should have taken a before photo. You can still see the yellow stains. I'm going to do some more scrubbing.

These things work great. I've been using them to remove stubborn ghost images from my screen printing screens. They easily removed paint scuffs and stains from the bike frame.

  1. Thanks for the tip about magic eraser. I'm going to try those on my bikes. I have been neglecting my wife's old mixte as well. I want to fix it up for my daughter to use.
